Combating Covid19

As responsible citizens and as per our role towards the development of the community we pledged to offer aid to those in need, as many as humanly possible for us with the support of our active volunteers. The initiative became functional on 25th April in West Bengal, Kolkata and Gurugram; following which daily wage workers were provided and funded. Dry Food, ration, daily essentials, sanitization (sanitizers, masks) were distributed to those in dire need of it.

Women Empowerment

We at Meera Foundation through our Women Empowerment programs aim at incorporating and upholding gender justice, equity and respect for human rights. Every individual deserves a life led with dignity and freedom of choice; India being a developing country, when it comes to gender roles still has a bias that exists. Our constant effort is to build a platform for women where they can voice their opinions, choices, most of all where they feel heard. We strive to make the women of our nation self-reliant, independent, and give them rights over sustainable livelihood resources, a means to sustain and thrive in the Indian society and live with dignity & equity. This International Women’s Day 2021, we held a Instagram Live Session with 3 powerful women not only nationally but internationally. They shared their life journeys, challenges they faced how they overcame them and are still overcoming in a sense. We as women of this world need to realise our self worth, believe in ourselves and learn to put ourselves first, as is well said by super mom Kreeti Mitra Bhatia (Founder the Special Mom) “Do yourself a favor, live for yourself a little”. A woman is not just someone who puts cooked food on the table, takes care of kids, or looks after the house. She is everything you can and cannot imagine. Quoting our guest speaker Ms. Samala Austin (Hypnotherapist) “Women gave birth to every single human on this planet”, let’s reflect on this statement and understand how powerful we are ! In coherence with our beliefs & values at Meera, and as Mrs. Ritu Kataria (Mrs. Haryana 2018) said “Let’s Celebrate the spirit of Womanhood everyday, not just Women’s Day”

Bringing Digital Media to EWS

This programs aimed at reaching out to the community, wherein our buddies (teachers, volunteers, psychologists) connect to children twice per week as per the availability of the child. Children living in close vicinity were paired in groups of 3-4 and used one phone/electronic device, ensuring social distancing and sanitization. We are aiming to connect with as many children and provide them with internet connectivity as much as possible.

Food and Cloth Distribution

Our last food and clothing distribution was held from Nov 2019- March 20. During this drive we distributed clothes and food resources to the EWS community connected with Meera Foundation and those in the vicinity as well. Through these drives our aim is to reach out to the community deprived of their basic needs and provide for them the basic means to sustain their living.

Empowering the community together…

Let’s be the change we envison: a great future is built by the steps we take today!
